Attack On Titan, My Hero Academia events announced for FunimationCon 2020

Today, more events have been revealed for FunimationCon 2020.

The voice actors behind Attack on Titan will go down memory lane to discuss working on the show’s first three seasons. Bryce Papenbrook (Eren), Trina Nishimura (Mikasa), Josh Grelle (Armin), J Michael Tatum (Erwin), Bryn Apprill (Christa), and Mike McFarland (Jean Kirstein, ADR Director) will be on hand for this event, which will be moderated by Funimation's Josellie Rios.

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun voice actors Justin Briner (Hanako) and Ian Sinclair (Tsuchigomori) will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at recording from home. Other voice actors set to appear include Tia Ballard (Nene), Emily Neves (Aoi), Aaron Dismuke (Natsuhiko), Tyson Rinehart (Kou), and Jād Saxton (ADR Director). Iconic voice actor Megumi Ogata (Hanako and Tsukasa) will engage in a Q&A session.

Listeners voice actors Justin Briner (Echo Rec), Bryn Apprill (Mu), and Lee George (Jimi Stonefree) will join Cris George (ADR Director) and Dai Sato (co-creator, lead writer) to discuss working on the series. Jacki Jing will host the panel.

Funimation have also announced they’re teaming up with Aniplex for the Aniplex Online Fest. Taking place on July 4, the event will feature an additional slew of content, including special appearances and talk shows with the staff and cast from popular anime.

The cast of My Hero Academia will also be on hand for some gaming action thanks to Esports Stadium Arlington. The My Hero One’s Justice 2 eSports Challenge will feature Justin Briner (Deku), Clifford Chapin (Bakugo), Christopher Sabat (All Might), Patrick Seitz (Endeavor), Ricco Fajardo (Mirio) and more going head to head in My Hero One’s Justice 2. Professional wrestler and avid gamer Kenny Omega will host the event. My Hero One’s Justice 2 was released back in March on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.

Previously announced events for FunimationCon 2020 include panels for Fruits Basket, One Piece, and Fire Force.

Fans can register for FunimationCon 2020 for free here. Fans will be given a code to stream it closer to the event. FunimationCon 2020 will take place on July 3 and July 4.

One Piece, Fruits Basket events announced for FunimationCon 2020

Funimation will go the virtual route with FunimationCon 2020, and yesterday, they unveiled a slew of panels hitting up the two-day event.

The English voice cast of Fruits Basket will hold a panel to discuss the show’s second season, which premiered back in April. Eric Vale (Yuki), Jerry Jewell (Kyo), Mikaela Krantz (Momiji) and Colleen Clinkenbeard (Akito),  Aaron Dismuke (Kakeru) and Caitlin Glass (Machi, ADR Director) will be on hand to talk about the show and do a live reading.

Some of your favorite voice actors from One Piece will come together to discuss the beloved anime series. Colleen Clinkenbeard (Luffy), Brina Palencia (Tony Tony Chopper), and Mike McFarland (Buggy the Clown) are among those who will join the panel moderated by Funimation’s Josellie Rios.

Fire Force will dive into season two this July, and voice actors Derick Snow (Shinra), Justin Briner (Sho), Eric Vale (Arthur), Christopher Wehkamp (Hinawa) will be on hand to discuss the show. This panel will be moderated by Matt Acevedo (Hyper RPG).

Aside from panels, FunimationCon will feature musical performances from Blue Encount (My Hero Academia), Flow (Naruto Shippuden), and Kana-Boon (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans) with DJ MarGenal spinning the best in anisong. FunimationCon will also air select musical performances from SACRA MUSIC FES.2019.

FunimationCon 2020, which hits the internet on July 3 and July 4, will be available to watch for free on Funimation’s website. More information about the virtual convention will be announced soon.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising English dub trailer released

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising arrives in theaters across the United States new week, and Funimation are getting fans excited with an English dub trailer. Released yesterday, the 90-second trailer finds Class 1-A running into trouble while at Nabu Island. You can check it out below.

Today, Funimation will livestream the Los Angeles premiere of the film with hosts Emma Fyffe, Matt Acevedo, Jacki Jing, Cheyenne Ewulu, and Lauren Moore. The crew will be interviewing the cast of the film along with some special guests. The broadcast will begin at 6 p.m. PST/9 p.m. EST on their Twitch and YouTube channels.

Tickets for My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, which hits theaters for a limited time starting on February 26, are on sale right now.

New English voice actors for My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising announced

With the Los Angeles red carpet premiere of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising happening in a few days, Funimation have unveiled who will be voicing the new characters in the film.

Taking over the voice of Mahoro is Dani Chambers, who is best known for providing the voices of Iris in Ace Attorney, Naoko in Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc, and Fai in Endro~! Voicing Katsuma is Maxey Whitehead, who has provided the voices of Crona in Soul Eater, Juzo Suzuya in Tokyo Ghoul, and Alphonse Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Funimation have also revealed Zeno Robinson will lend their voice to Hawks. Robinson is best known for portraying Cyborg in Young Justice, Kelby in Cannon Busters, and Superalloy Blackluster in One Punch Man.

The red carpet premiere, which takes place on Wednesday, February 19, will be livestreamed. My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising will arrive to theaters for a limited release starting on February 26. Tickets are on sale right now.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising to arrive in North American theaters on February 26

Following the successful release of My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, Funimation Films have announced the arrival of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising today. The film will make its way to theaters across North America for a limited release on February 26. Advance tickets will go on sale on January 31. You can check out the teaser trailer below.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising finds Deku and Co. protecting Nabu Island from forces of evil. The film, which made its debut in Japan last month, will arrive in theaters in subbed and dubbed formats. Funimation gained the distribution rights for the movie days before its Japanese release.

My Hero Academia is currently on its fourth season, which is slated to end tomorrow (January 11) in Japan. Debuting in 2016 in Japan, My Hero Academia has become one of the most talked about anime series in recent years. On March 13, the My Hero: One's Justice 2 video game will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
