Thursday release new song "Application For Release From The Dream"
Post-hardcore band Thursday have unveiled their first single in 13 years today.
The song “Application For Release From The Dream” is Thursday’s first piece of self-released music in 25 years following stints on Eyeball Records, Victory Records, Island Records, and Epitaph Records. Vocalist Geoff Rickly said this about the new song, which can be heard below:
"Thirteen years since we last released music, Thursday have now entered our DIY collective era. Without being tied to a label we will release music when we want to…we are collaborating with new people and reimagining the band with each new song. It feels underground again, with the freedom that comes from the hardcore scene we grew up in. 'Application for Release from the Dream' is a meditation on mortality and the seemingly endless cycle of death and rebirth that we all pass through so many times, even in just one lifetime. It’s also a plea to stay in the living world, even when things are painful."
“Application For Release From The Dream” is out on digital services right now here.
This weekend, Thursday will have a trio of sold-out intimate shows in the Northeast. This summer, the band will head to Europe for festival appearances. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here.
