Concerts are back in full swing, and music lovers can’t wait to safely check out their favorite artists when they come to town. These are five great concerts going down in New York City from Monday, November 1 through Sunday, November 7.
Tuesday, November 2
Infinity Shred (Shred Offline) @ IRL (7 p.m.) (tickets)
NYC metal act Infinity Shred will leave their music up to a chamber orchestra for a special night at IRL. The event will feature the orchestra playing specially arranged versions of Infinity Shred's music. Earlier this year, the act released EP 002 (Recovery).
Thursday, November 4
Inter Arma, Artificial Brain @ Saint Vitus Bar (7 p.m.) (tickets)
Virginia Southern metal outfit Inter Arma and Long Island death metal group Artificial Brain will kick off their mini-trek with a two night stint at Saint Vitus Bar (night two takes place on Friday, November 5). Inter Arma will be promoting their 2019 studio album Sulphur English, Artificial Brain, who are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming album, will be joined by Paulo Paguntalan (Miasmatic Necrosis, Edenic Past, Undeciphered) as their lead vocalist for this mini-trek. Skullshitter will open the show.
Friday, November 5
Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Big Freedia @ Pioneers Works (10 p.m.) (tickets)
Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Big Freedia, Durand Jones, and DJ Nickodemus will help raise money for the Preservation Hall Foundation with this special concert. In 2006, Preservation Hall Jazz Band earned the National Medal of Arts. In September, Big Freedia released their new EP Big Diva Energy. Durand Jones released their new studio album with Durand Jones & The Indications titled Private Space, which topped the Heatseekers Albums chart.
Saturday, November 6
Comeback Kid, A Wilhelm Scream @ The Brooklyn Monarch (8 p.m.) (tickets)
Canadian hardcore act Comeback Kid will headline The Brooklyn Monarch to preview material from their forthcoming album Heavy Steps, which arrives next year on Nuclear Blast. A Wilhelm Scream, One Step Closer, and Victory Garden will join them as support.
Sunday, November 7
Black Label Society, Obituary @ Irving Plaza (6 p.m.) (tickets)
Black Label Society's Doom Trooping Over North America tour will make its way to Irving Plaza. The beloved metal band will be promoting their forthcoming album Doom Crew Inc., which arrives on November 26. Obituary, who will unveil their new studio album next year, and Prong, who will be promoting 2017’s Zero Days, will also perform.
