Singer Yoko Takahashi (Neon Genesis Evangelion) to perform at Anime Frontier 2022
Anime Frontier has announced another musical guest for this year’s event.
Revealed today, Yoko Takahashi will perform on Sunday, December 4 at 2 p.m. at the Fort Worth Convention Center Ballroom. Takahashi is best known by anime fans as the vocalist behind Neon Genesis Evangelion opening song “A Cruel Angel's Thesis,” which has become one of the most beloved anime songs of all time. The singer has also sang themes on This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, Pumpkin Scissors, and Shakugan no Shana. Outside of anime, Takahashi has unveiled a slew of albums, including 2015’s Koi ni Samusa wo Wasure.
Takahashi’s concert will be free to convention attendees, but there will be limited VIP packages available featuring closer seating to the stage and a pre-signed VIP-only poster. The singer will also hold a panel and an autograph signing. Takahashi joins previously announced band FLOW as musical acts for the convention.
Anime Frontier Show Director Peter Tatara said this about Takahashi’s forthcoming performance:
“NEON GENESIS EVANGELION and Yoko Takahashi's “The Cruel Angel's Thesis” have stood the test of time as two of the most iconic ambassadors of anime to audiences around the world, and we're deeply honored to now bring this world-class singer to the Southwest. We know fans across Texas and far beyond will be moved by Takahashi's music at Anime Frontier.”
