Shape of Water release music video for "Not All The Things"
British alternative art-rock group Shape of Water have unveiled their new single “Not All The Things” today.
The music video for the track, which you can see below, deals with the consequences of a wild lifestyle. For this visual, they use a familiar nursery rhyme character: Humpty Dumpty. "The video is a psychedelic distorted conception of sex, drugs and rock’n’roll that focuses all the attention on the true protagonist of the story who is the egg. You can party hard all the time and go rough, but at some point, you have to face the consequences." vocalist Rox Capriotti said.
When it came to shooting the visual, the coronavirus pandemic changed the band’s original plans. Fortunately, they found a new way to make it work. “It was a shock at the beginning, but we quickly realized we could turn it into something positive. So we reunited in our house and decided to have this crazy night together with some friends and film it… who knows if we were faking or not?,” guitarist Luca De Falco said,
The single stems from Shape of Water’s debut studio album Great Illusions, which arrives on Eclipse Records on June 12. For the release, the band worked with producer Paul Reeve, who is best known for their work with Muse, Razorlight, and Supergrass. Pre-orders for the album can be made here.
