Sam & Max: This Time It's Virtual! arrives on Oculus Quest this July
The official release date for Sam & Max: This Time It's Virtual! has been unveiled.
Developer HappyGiant and publisher Big Sugar announced the virtual game will be arriving on the Oculus Quest on July 8 with a $29.99 price tag. Interested folks can head here to wishlist the game right now. The game will also be released on SteamVR and Viveport Infinity later this year with a PlayStationVR release slated for early 2022.
It was also announced that Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell will lend their voice to the animatronic head of Duncan B. Dills, creator of the AquaBear Funtime Park. This will be the first time Purcell has lent their voice to a Sam & Max game.

The synopsis for the game reads:
“The upcoming VR action-adventure game features the bewilderingly durable comic book duo in either their fourth, seventh, or twentieth video game outing (depending on how you’re counting). After decades of rescuing bigfoots, playing games of high-stakes poker against B-List celebrities, and preserving reality from cosmic nogoodniks, the world-renowned dog and rabbity thing are on a recruitment drive to fatten up the ranks of the Freelance Police… and they’ve come to you for help! Dive head first into the funky world of virtual reality as Sam & Max push you through their mostly-relevant gauntlet of training courses designed to test your mettle and break your brain… and watch out for the hidden menace lurking in the training grounds that may spell doom for us all!”
