Photos: Pop culture fans flocked to L.A. Comic Con 2022
This past weekend, thousands of pop culture fans made their way to the Los Angeles Convention Center for the 2022 installment of the L.A. Comic Con.
The three-day event was filled with exciting panels, cosplayers, amazing deals, and memories for everyone who attended. One of the main highlights at the convention was the live taping of Women of Wrestling. The all-female wrestling promotion, which got started back in 2000 by G.L.O.W. founder David McLane, made its return to broadcast syndication this year. The promotion filmed a special episode at the convention, and wrestling fans surrounded the ring to witness some fantastic women's wrestling.
After folks were done with browsing the show floor, many of them headed to The Mayan for the official L.A. Comic Con afterparty on Saturday night. The highlight of the event featured SpongeBob SquarePants voice actor Tom Kenny and their backing band The Hi-Seas. The set found the acclaimed voice actor covering some beloved rock songs from the past. While the actor grooved on stage alongside backup singers The Damselles, they took their wireless mic throughout the crowd for some selfies and high-fives from audience members. Since it was an afterparty for L.A. Comic Con, Kenny delivered the SpongeBob classics "Don't Be A Jerk" and "The Best Day Ever," which led to the packed audience channeling their inner youth for a moment.
