Photos: Anime Expo 2022 returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center
When the coronavirus hit, the convention circuit took a huge hit. As one of the biggest anime conventions in North America, Anime Expo managed to take things to a virtual level with Anime Expo Lite while fans waited for things to get somewhat back to normal. Over two years later, anime fans from all over made their way to the Los Angeles Convention Center for the return of Anime Expo.
For its first in-person convention since 2019, Anime Expo brought some big names to the event such as Anime Expo mascot creator Mika Akitaka, who was a Guest of Honor back in 1999, Studio MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka, and adult manga creator Shindo L. Aside from the guests, there were a slew of panels available for the lively crowd. From industry panels from companies such as PonyCanyon and GKIDS to special panels about the ins and outs of the anime industry, there was something for everyone.
You can check out our photos of the event below.
Anime Expo will return to Los Angeles Convention Center next year from July 1 through July 4. If you can't wait that long, they recently announced Anime Expo Ontario, which will take place in Ontario, California on November 12 and November 13. More information on that event will be unveiled soon. Our previous coverage of Anime Expo 2022 can be seen here.
