Olivia Rodrigo releases new single “bad idea right?”
Pop artist Olivia Rodrigo has unveiled the second single from their forthcoming album Guts today.
“bad idea right?” arrives with a music video directed by frequent collaborator Petra Collins, which can be seen below. Rodrigo said this about the new song, which is out on digital services right now:
“‘bad idea right?’ started with us making a joke song about me hooking up with an ex-boyfriend, but then we realized we were actually onto something. We were throwing the weirdest things at the wall — in one of choruses there’s a part that sounds like an instrument in the background, but it’s me gradually screaming louder and louder.”
Guts, which features the previously released single “vampire,” will arrive via Geffen Records on September 8. Pre-orders for the album can be made here. The vinyl version of Guts will arrive in red, white, blue, and purple exclusively in Rodrigo’s merch store. Target will have their own exclusive vinyl and CD versions of Guts, which can be pre-ordered here.
Guts follows Rodrigo’s multi-platinum debut album Sour, which earned the artist three Grammy Awards (Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance).
