Nintendo Switch 2 announced, arriving in 2025
Nintendo has finally announced the successor to the Nintendo Switch today.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is slated to be released later in 2025. Nintendo made the announcement via a first-look trailer, which can be seen here. In the trailer, viewers can also get a quick glimpse at the new Mario Kart game, which appears to allow up to 24 players on the course. The new console will play Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games as well as digital and physical Nintendo Switch titles. Certain Nintendo Switch titles may not work on the new console. A list of unsupported games will go live in the future. A Nintendo Switch 2 direct will arrive on Wednesday, April 2.
Nintendo also announced the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience, which allows fans to get a hands-on look at the new console. The tour will make its way to cities such as Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo. The full list of tour dates can be seen below. Ticket registration will go live tomorrow (January 17), and it’ll close on January 26. Tickets will be made available through a free-to-enter, randomly selected drawing. More information about the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience can be found here.
