Lovelorn release music video for "Sickness Reward"
Philadelphia electronic duo Lovelorn, which features ex-Creepoid members Anna and Patrick Troxell, have released the music video for their latest single “Sickness Reward.”
The visual, which can be seen below, was directed by Daniel Fried. Anna said this about the visual:
"I had a severe eating disorder in my 20s. When I wrote "Sickness Reward," I wanted to revisit that period of my life. Back then, the only way for me to communicate my unhappiness was by making myself physically unwell. I thought the "reward" for the reign of terror I waged on my body would be that someone would notice, and cure my loneliness and anxiety. After writing it, I almost instantly had the idea of translating it into a visual work. The concept of the "race" came quickly, as a means to translate the endless loop of struggle that is an eating disorder. I also wanted the runners to showcase competition and comparison, not only within the group, but also the internal conflict within myself. Daniel connected with this vision, and added his own visual cues to the endless loop of anxiety."
“Sickness Reward” stems from Lovelorn’s upcoming debut album What’s Yr Damage, which is slated for an August 6 release on 6131 Records. Pre-orders for the album can be made here. The act will have a slew of performances in support of the album, which can be seen below. Tickets are on sale right now.
