Los Angeles industrial metal band Purest Form unveil debut single “Broke”
Los Angeles industrial metal band Purest Form have delivered their electrifying debut single “Broke” today.
An accompanying music video for the song, which can be seen below, was shot by Kristopher Kirk and Jeremy Stith in a basement in the San Gabriel Valley. Vocalist Story Beeson (Choking on Ash, Vacant Future) said this about the new song:
"It's about the fear of artificial intelligence and the possibilities it could hold for further separating us from ourselves and from each other in society. I've been afraid of AI for years. There's a dystopian idea that your authentic self could be replaced by something artificial. Technology could take us away from our true selves. That's the root of industrial music to me."
“Broke” is the opening track to Purest Form’s forthcoming self-titled debut EP, which will be released on March 7.
Forming last year, Purest Form also features guitarist/programmer Madison Woodward (Fury, Object of Affection) and bassist Riley Joyner (Roman Candles, Pocketknife).
The band’s debut live performance will take place on February 9 at Genghis Cohen with Provoker, Kumo 99, Death Bells, and Touching Ice. Tickets for the show are already sold out, but a waiting list is available here.
