Los Angeles hit songwriter BUZZ releases debut single “FTN”
Electro-pop artist BUZZ has dropped their debut single “FTN” today.
When it comes to the new tremendous cut, which can be heard below, the artist said:
“”FTN” fell out of me, off the back of a lot of suppressed emotions,” says BUZZ. “I was super unhappy in this mental narrative I was telling myself; comparing to everyone else, bullying myself internally. When I started making “FTN”, the minute I played that bass line something snapped in a good way. I started spouting off these lyrics essentially making fun of my own thoughts and the pressure I felt from all sides of life. In almost every way it’s an inverted celebration of self love.”
After moving to Los Angeles in 2016, BUZZ began writing songs for artists such as Bebe Rexha, Olivia O'Brien, and Kylie Minogue. In 2019, they penned Katy Perry’s platinum-selling hit "Never Really Over.” For their solo work, however, BUZZ wants to stand out from the rest:
“My whole career was based around pleasing other people which gets really draining. So this music and releasing it independently is my middle finger to trying to fit in someone else’s box. This is me unfiltered.”
“FTN” is available on digital services right now.
