Dodgebrawl game Knockout City to arrive on May 21
EA and Velan Studios are joining forces for the dodgeball-inspired game Knockout City.
Announced today, the game will be released on May 21 on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam, and Origin. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S owners will also be able to play through backwards compatibility. Knockout City will include crossplay and cross-progression. An announcement trailer can be seen below.
A beta for the game will launch this weekend (February 20 - February 21) for PC owners. Head here to sign up for the beta. When Knockout City launches, players will be able to test it out via a limited-time trial, which will allow full access to the game. Anyone who chooses to purchase the $20 game during the trial will also gain special cosmetic rewards. All players will be able to transfer their progress when the game is purchased.
In a statement, Velan Studios CEO Karthik Bala said:
“At Velan we obsess over finding new play experiences. Knockout City starts with the deceptively simple concept of throwing and catching a ball and layers in an incredible amount of skill, depth and style, for a refreshingly fun competitive multiplayer experience that you have to play to believe. It ain’t just dodgeball, it’s dodgeBRAWL. Since we first found that magic in the game, we haven’t been able to stop playing and we can’t wait to share that experience with some of you during this weekend’s first closed beta.”
