Five predictions for WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles
WrestleMania 39 arrives this weekend at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium (April 1 and April 2), and there's a lot on the line during this two-day extravaganza. From lengthy title runs being cut down to iconic wrestlers reuniting at WrestleMania, we give five predictions for this beloved event. If you're in Los Angeles and want to check out the action in person, there's still a handful of tickets left for WrestleMania here. Those unable to attend can watch it go down live on Peacock.
The Bloodline lose the belts
The Bloodline has arguably been one of the most dominant WWE stables of all time and has delivered one of the best storylines ever seen in professional wrestling. With several cracks in their armor as of late, however, many fans expect The Bloodline to lose their precious championship gold. With the reunion of longtime friends Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, it could mean the end of The Usos run as tag team champions. If Zayn and Owens vs The Usos is the main event of night one, this will be the first time a tag team match main evented WrestleMania since WrestleMania I.
When Cody Rhodes returned to the WWE last year, they had one goal in mind: becoming world champion. Rhodes' win can come with the unexpected assistance of someone who secretly has it out for Reigns: Jey Uso. With all three title-holding members potentially losing belts this weekend, the inevitable breakup of The Bloodline will probably be more interesting than their rise to the top.
The Rock appears
Before the start of 2023, there were plenty of rumors surrounding a match between Roman Reigns and The Rock at WrestleMania. While there's no word if Reigns would've held the belts by then, a one-on-one match between the two titans would've been a major match for the event. A surprise appearance from The Rock either before or after Reigns' match could plant the seats for a future match between the two stars.
Belair retains
Bianca Belair vs Asuka is certainly one of the most exciting WrestleMania matches on the card. While both competitors earned their stripes in the WWE through NXT, they've only competed against each other once on the main roster. With Asuka reverting back to their Kana ways, the match has been elevated to a higher level of excitement.
While Reigns, the Usos, and Belair head into WrestleMania with lengthy title reigns, Belair isn't done with their championship run just yet. Expect Belair to walk away as champion and potentially get into a feud with a new challenger coming from NXT.
Damage CTRL beat Trish, Lita, and Lynch
In a short time, Damage CTRL has become one of the hottest stables in WWE with Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky earning the Women's Tag Team Championship twice. Unfortunately, their second reign came to an end thanks to the new champions Lita and Becky Lynch. This six-person tag match reunites best friends Lita and Trish Stratus in what is sure to be an exciting match. In the end, Damage CTRL need the win to show complete dominance at the big stage.
Omos defeats Lesnar
The internet made Omos vs Brock Lesnar a WrestleMania highlight before the PLE even started. Lesnar has been one of the most dominant members of the WWE locker room for years while Omos has been slowly gaining momentum with a tag team championship run with A.J. Styles and a WrestleMania match against Bobby Lashley last year. A win over Lesnar at WrestleMania will be a major highlight in Omos’ flourishing WWE career. Expect Omosapiens worldwide to celebrate Omos' big victory.
