Five individuals that could win the 2023 Men's Royal Rumble
Tonight, the 36th annual Royal Rumble will go down at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and wrestling fans around the world will be wondering which male superstar will walk away as the Royal Rumble winner. We look at five individuals that could have their lives changed forever with a massive win. The Royal Rumble will go live at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST over on Peacock.
Cody Rhodes
Rhodes will probably be everyone's pick to win the Royal Rumble, and it's not hard to see why. Since returning to the WWE at Wrestlemania last year, Rhodes goal was to grab the world championship, but unfortunately, an injury put the wrestler on the sideline for several months. Everyone can expect the crowd to be on their feet when The American Nightmare make their return at the iconic WWE event. Rhodes vs Reigns would be a fantastic battle between the two legendary wrestling families.
Jey Uso
Since losing a championship match to Reigns back in 2020, Jey Uso has found success with the Bloodline. Unfortunately, it didn't come without some extreme gaslighting from Reigns in the process. Last October, Jey found themselves snapping at Reigns, which resulted in them finding their "inner Ucey" to get back on track. Jey vs Reigns would be a massive culmination of nearly three years worth of built up rage.
Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn winning the Royal Rumble would bring the whole Bloodline storyline to another level. If Zayn does win, the star could find themselves putting their Royal Rumble opportunity on the line at Elimination Chamber to prove their loyalty to the Bloodline. A loss via some sort of Usos interference would lead to the rumored tag team match with Owens vs The Usos for the tag belts.
Montez Ford
Sooner or later, Montez Ford will find themselves holding the world championship. A Ford vs Reigns feud would be a nifty way to further expand on their initial feud with The Usos. Fans can expect their tag team partner Angelo Dawkins to be by their side for the whole journey.
Shelton Benjamin
Shelton Benjamin's WWE career is one that's filled with fantastic matches (Benjamin vs HBK remains one of the best Raw matches ever) and championship gold (three time Tag Team Champion). Something longtime fans can agree on is that Benjamin deserved much better during their first WWE run. With the recent celebration of Benjamin's 20th anniversary, having The Gold Standard walk away as the Royal Rumble winner would be an interesting way to set up what could be an absolute classic against Reigns.
