Earth, Wind & Fire's "September" added to Fortnite Festival
September 21 is an important date for music fans around the world thanks to Earth, Wind & Fire’s iconic hit “September.” Now, the beloved song has made its way to one of the biggest online games out there.
Revealed today, the tune has been added to Fortnite Festival as a Jam Track. The song will be removed from the store on October 10 at 4:59 p.m, so there’s plenty of time to grab it before it goes away.
Released in 1978, “September” became the band’s fourth Top 10 hit in their career. Comedian Demi Adejuyigbe began a yearly tradition of dancing along the song on their YouTube channel. For years, the videos racked up millions in views. In 2021, the comedian posted their final “September” video, which features an appearance from Earth, Wind & Fire. In 2018, “September” landed on the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry list of sound recordings that are preserved for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
Fortnite is available on consoles, PC, and mobile phones right now. More information about the game can be found here.
