Dungeons and Dragons dives into Dead By Daylight this June
Dead By Daylight and Dungeons and Dragons will collide for one wild crossover event.
Announced today, the collaboration will bring in iconic D&D villain Vecna, who’ll be known as The Lich in Dead By Daylight’s world. Players will also be greeted to new survivors (and Bards) Aestri Yazar and Baermar Uraz and a new map titled Forgotten Ruins.
With this new map, players will be able to dive into D&D even further with seven chests that can only be opened by rolling a d20 dice. Rolling a 2 or a 3 will give the player a regular Dead by Daylight item while rolling a 4 through 19 will grant them a magical item used to counter Vecna. Rolling a 20 (a.k.a a critical success) will give players a magical item that can be used as one of two perks: The Eye of Vecna, which allows the user to vanish for a brief period after exiting a Locker and The Hand of Vecna, which allows the user to teleport from one Locker to another. The player will lose a Health State whenever one of these two perks are used. Rolling a one will lead to disaster.
A limited-time public test build on Steam is available right now. The collaboration will go live on June 3. A brief look at Vecna’s spells and perks for Aestri Yazar/Baermar Uraz can be seen below. More information about Dead By Daylight can be found here.
Vecna’s spells
Fly grants him flying speed for a short time, letting him pass over obstacles in his path.
Flight of the Damned conjures flying spectral entities that pass-through obstacles and cause harm to all they hit.
Mage Hand creates a ghastly, phantasmic hand that completes tasks such as holding and blocking the use of Pallets.
Dispelling Sphere creates a moving AOE sphere that reveals Survivors and disables their Magical Items.
Aestri Yazar/Baermar Uraz perks
Mirrored Illusion spawns a static copy of the Survivor in front of a Totem, Chest, Generator or Exit Gate for a limited time.
Bardic Inspiration inspires others through a stirring performance. Roll a d20 and fellow Survivors get a Skill Check buff depending on the result of the roll.
When not in motion, Still Sight lets you briefly see the auras of all close by Generators, Totems, and Chests.
