Anamanaguchi announce Scott Pilgrim concert at The Wiltern in Los Angeles
Following the first look at the Scott Pilgrim anime series, NYC chiptune rock band Anamanaguchi will celebrate the forthcoming show with a special concert in Los Angeles.
Announced today, the band will headline The Wiltern on November 17, which is the release date for Netflix’s Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. Fans will be greeted to music from the anime show and more tunes from the act. Tickets for this performance are on sale to the general public right now here.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off features the original cast from the movie reprising their roles alongside Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O'Malley working on the script. Anamanaguchi, who did music for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game, will provide original music for the show. Animation studio Science Saru, who previously worked on Netflix’s Devilman Crybaby, worked on the series.
The anime takes place after the beloved 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Edgar Wright, who directed the film and serves as an executive producer on the anime, told Netflix:
“I knew that a live action sequel was unlikely, but I would usually defer by suggesting that perhaps an anime adaptation was an interesting way to go. And then, lo and behold, one day Netflix got in touch to ask about this exact idea. But even better, our brilliant creator Bryan Lee O’Malley had an idea that was way more adventurous than just a straight adaptation of the original books.”
