The shortlist for the next year’s Writers' Guild of Great Britain has been released today.

The shortlist features a wide array of talent in 14 categories, including Best Writing in a Video Game, Best Play for Young Audiences, and Best Long Form TV Drama.

The award ceremony, which will be hosted by award-winning comedian Rachel Parris, will take place on January 16 at the Royal College of Physicians in London.

WGGB General Secretary Ellie Peers said this about the shortlist, which can be seen below:

“What a fantastic list of talented screenwriters, playwrights, authors, audio dramatists, comedy and videogames writers, whose work has kept us entertained and informed, and uplifted our spirits through the astonishing breadth and depth of their work. We look forward to celebrating and saluting them all at the Writers’ Guild Awards ceremony.”
