Wreckfest 2 will land on Steam Early Access next month.

Announced today, the forthcoming racing game will hit the platform on March 20. An announcement trailer can be seen here. Mod support will be live during Steam Early Access, which means gamers will be able to let their imaginations go wild on the road.

A synopsis for Wreckfest 2 reads:

Race on high-speed circuits - or tear through a junkyard filled with, well, junk! Take on wild jumps, try to dodge oncoming traffic at chaotic intersections. Good luck with that! Or embrace total destruction in derby mode, where chaos reigns, and every collision fuels the madness. It’s not just a race - it’s carnage on wheels. With no rules and no mercy, every race becomes a battle to the finish line against up to 23 other players or AI drivers in all-out multiplayer mayhem!

Forget the shiny supercars - In Wreckfest 2, the rides are old, rusty, dented, and patched together. As Early Access progresses, you'll be able to build the banger of your dreams and transform your battered ride into a wrecking machine! New cars and other vehicles will be added as the game evolves.
