Los Angeles progressive death metal band The Zenith Passage unveiled their new single “Divinertia II" yesterday.

The band said this about the new single, which arrives with a performance video seen below:

“Lyrically, this song is about the panic that ultimately causes what we can consider a Big Bang within the context of Datalysium. In Part I, we explore a universal totality that exists in a closed loop. At some point it gets wise to the idea of ‘more.’ In ‘Divinertia II,’ this idea manifests ‘more’ into existence, unexpectedly splitting into the known and unknown realities that we exist in today, all borne of confusion and fear.

Musically, we explore and expand on a motif and counterpoint theme, which evolves into various tempos and momentum. A majority of this song is just one riff played at various speeds using a familiar rhythmic motif throughout. The evolving tempos are all derivatives of triplet, as a nod to the number of the universe, 333.”

“Divinertia II" stems from The Zenith Passage’s forthcoming studio album Datalysium, which will be released on July 21st via Metal Blade Records. This record follows’ the band 2016 debut album Solipsist. Pre-orders for the album can be made here.

On July 9, the band will kick off their West Coast tour in support of the album with a stop at Las Vegas’ Backstage Bar. The tour concludes on July 21 with a hometown record release show at Knucklehead, which will be free with a receipt of album purchase ($15 without an album purchase). Civerous and Kron will join the band’s record release show as opening acts. Tour dates can be seen below.
