The 10 most anticipated video games of 2022

While many people stare at their gaming backlot, they’re also glaring at the ever-growing list of new games coming out in 2022. Being able to dive into new worlds and try out new mechanics will also draw people towards beloved and new IPs. These 10 games will keep people occupied for hours on end this year.

Skateboarding title OlliOlli World will take players to a colorful world filled to the brim with skating action. This title introduces branching paths, which can inspire some new combo lines, and quarter pipes to the mix.

Gran Turismo 7

The seventh title in the iconic Gran Turismo series will have longtime fans pleased with the return of single-player GT Mode, which was missing in 2017's Gran Turismo Sport. This will also be the first Gran Turismo title to be released on two consoles simultaneously.

After the disaster that was WWE 2K20, everyone's going to see if developer Visual Concepts learned their lesson with WWE 2K22. The new title will bring back the highly requested GM Mode, which hasn’t been seen in the series since SmackDown vs. Raw 2008. The one thing that can break the game, however, is its roster, which has probably been wrecked with the unfortunate real-life releases conducted by one Vince McMahon.

After delivering beloved franchises Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, Bethesda will offer a brand-new IP with Starfield. Exclusively being released on the Xbox Series X/S and Microsoft Windows, the space-themed game will allow players to become part of an organization of space explorers called The Constellation.

Baldur's Gate III

Baldur's Gate III has been in early access since October 2020, and players have been dropping hours into their adventures on Faerûn. This title differentiates from previous Baldur's Gate games with its turn-based system.

The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a lot to live up to when it drops sometime this year. With this game, players will find themselves exploring the skies in Hyrule ala The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. We're also hoping the game's official title IS Untitled The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel.

Marvel's Midnight Suns

Marvel's Midnight Suns, which is being developed by Firaxis Games, will have players controlling a new customizable character titled The Hunter. Beloved Marvel characters such as Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and Ghost Rider will also be available to join the player's team.
