Texas alt-pop artist Juliana Madrid unveiled their new song “Pixelated” today.

The track, which was co-written with The Knocks’ Benjamin Ruttner and producer/songwriter Matthew Koma (Zedd, Britney Spears, Shania Twain), comes with a lyric video by Ruttner. Madrid said this about the song, which can be heard below:

"Pixelated is about being stuck in your head. It can be really hard sometimes to get the bigger picture of what’s going on in your life when you’re so zoomed in on a million tiny details. Also in this song I think vocally the style may be different from any of my other songs, like the staccato note length in each chorus. I think it helps to convey this overwhelming feeling of chaos that can be a product of being alone with your thoughts and your mind racing."

“Pixelated” comes from Madrid’s upcoming Afterlife EP, which will be released on August 11 on Neon Gold Records. Pre-saves for the EP can be made here. “Pixelated” is out on digital services right now.

Madrid will perform at the sold-out All Things Go Festival on October 1 alongside Lana Del Rey, Boygenius, and Meet Me At The Altar. More information about the festival can be found here.
