Pop superstar Taylor Swift won’t be making their way to the Super Bowl next year.

Revealed yesterday, the artist reportedly turned down an offer to perform at the popular televised sporting event, which is slated to go down on February 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Los Vegas, Nevada.

This isn’t a shock seeing how Swift has a busy 2024 already with a slew of tour dates running through November. Next February, Swift will embark on a headlining tour through Japan, which concludes on February 10. Since the flight from Tokyo to Los Vegas would be around 15 hours, there would be no way the artist could perform even if they agreed. If Swift managed to get a nice redeye flight, there’s still a ton of preparation time that comes with performing at the Super Bowl. There’s also Swift’s Australian tour, which kicks off on February 16. With two tours packed so tightly together, it wouldn’t be possible to make it work.

Swift reportedly mentioned plans to perform at the Super Bowl in the future after they’re done re-recording their first six albums. With 1989 (Taylor's Version) coming on October 27, they only have their self-titled debut album and Reputation left.

Swift is no stranger to the NFL; over the years, the artist performed at a handful of NFL games, and they headlined the pre-Super Bowl concert Super Saturday Night back in 2017. With over 100 million viewers watching the big game worldwide, performing at the Super Bowl halftime show is an accomplishment many artists wish to have on their resume.

Now that Swift is out of the question, it’ll be interesting to see who’ll perform at next year’s event. Perhaps they’ll get someone who isn’t already performing on the other side of the world that weekend.
