Swedish melodic death metal band Vittra have unveiled a new mix of “Necrotic Apocalypse" yesterday.

“Necrotic Apocalypse (2023 Mackrory Mix)” appears on the "Sommarfödd" digital single. The original version appears on the band’s 2021 debut EP Wardens. An accompanying music video, which can be seen below, was directed by Daniel Wahlström at Heavy Groove Media.

The band said this about the new mix:

“Celebrating the US CD release of Blasphemy Blues, we also want to ensure that our new listeners discover ‘Necrotic Apocalypse,’ a given on our live set. Initially, our singer [David Döragrip] didn’t even want to record the track because it was too thrash, but now it’s a band favorite. The slightly unconventional vocal part on the bridge makes it stand out and the natural groove makes it really fun to play live. How the verse seamlessly enters the pre-chorus, building up for the chorus and the ‘80s-style power metal ‘scream’ at the end of the really ‘pop’ guitar solo makes this one a lot of fun. This 2023 version comes with a new mix and master by Lawrence Mackrory (Bloodbath, Katatonia, Decapitated), having a slightly more death metal touch to it.”

Vittra’s new studio album Blasphemy Blues is available on digital services right now.
