Predictions for The Game Awards 2020: Phasmophobia, Metroid Prime 4

The 2020 installment of The Game Awards arrives tomorrow (December 10), and gamers from around the world can’t wait to witness the ceremony from home. From surprise reveals to big winners, fans are expecting to not walk away disappointed. We decided to make a few predictions on what might go down at the virtual award ceremony.

Possible Look At Uncharted Movie?

With Tom Holland presenting at the ceremony, we could get a first look at the forthcoming Uncharted film. This year saw the film's release date being shuffled around before landing its July 16, 2021 date. Inspired by Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, the film follows a younger Nathan Drake, and it'll feature Drake's mentor Victor "Sully" Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) and Drake's love interest Chloe Frazer (Sophia Taylor Ali). Filming officially wrapped at the end of October.

Elden Ring Trailer Being Released?

For months, gamers have wanted to get a glimpse of Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin's collaborative action RPG Elden Ring. With those two powerhouses working together on a game, many people have high expectations. In a recent interview with Gamespot, Xbox head Phil Spencer stated, "As somebody who's played all of Miyazaki's games over at least the last decade, this is clearly the most ambitious game that he's done." Elden Ring will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows.

The Last Of Us Part II Will Dominate

Three years after winning the Game Award for Most Anticipated Game, The Last of Us Part II arrives at the ceremony with a bevy of nominations. With a slew of accolades under its belt, it won't be surprising to see The Last of Us part II walk away with the most awards, including Game of the Year. Released back in June, the game became one of the PlayStation 4's best-selling titles with four million copies sold.

Phasmophobia Walks Away With Best Debut Game

With the current climate, multiplayer games have seen a stronger presence than usual. One game that has been making a huge mark on Twitch is Phasmophobia, which has people joining forces to hunt ghosts in various areas. The game, which is still in early access, became an instant hit worldwide with over 70 million TikTok views and a slew of memes being created every second.

Nintendo Releasing New Teasers?

Nintendo could potentially drop massive teasers on a few of their most anticipated titles. The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was announced at E3 last year, and fans have been curious about any updates. With next year being the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, everyone's expecting to see the new game drop to coincide with the celebration.

2021 also marks the 35th anniversary of Metroid, and people are willing to do anything to get some tiny update on Metroid Prime 4. Announced back in 2017, Metroid Prime 4 hit a speedbump when Retro Studios took over the game's development from Bandai Namco Studios early last year. Retro Studios worked on the previous three Metroid Prime games. Metroid Prime 3, which was originally the last game in the Prime series, was released in 2007 on the Wii.

Bayonetta 3 trended on Twitter recently, but it wasn't about any update on the game. Many people reminded everyone that Bayonetta 3 was announced at The Game Awards three years ago, and since last year, PlatinumGames has been silent on everything. With The Game Awards coming up, many are hoping for any sort of announcement.
