Macross fans from California made their way to the Torrance Cultural Arts Center on Saturday for the Super Dimension Convention.

The convention featured a slew of activities for fans of the beloved anime franchise. In the Assembly Room, attendees were greeted to a slew of Macross models and special Macross arcade cabinets. The Vending Hall was packed with people looking to purchase their next collectible. The Courtyard featured a ton of entertainment, including a 1/55 VF-1 transformation contest and a musical performance from Guest of Honor Feebeechanchibi.

This year, the convention celebrated Macross’ 40th anniversary. Over the decades, the franchise spawned a slew of anime series, films, and video games. In the U.S., material from Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA were edited together to create the Robotech series in 1985. With a live-action Robotech film in the works by director Rhys Thomas (Hawkeye, Saturday Night Live), the Macross/Robotech universe will reach a brand new audience.
