PAX West and DoorDash announce Fortnite Battle of the Brands tournament

A handful of popular restaurants will duke it out during this year’s PAX West.

Announced today, PAX West and DoorDash will host the Fortnite Battle of the Brands tournament, which will feature eight streamers competing for the $25,000 prize pool (and a year of DoorDash) as they represent eight restaurants (Burger King, Del Taco, Jack in the Box, KFC, Little Caesars, McDonald’s, Popeyes, and Taco Bell).

Online qualifiers will start on Friday, August 18 with four of the eight streamers competing against each other on their own channels. On Saturday, September 2, eight streamers will compete to see how they’ll be seeded in the finals on Sunday, September 3. The top six will go for the prize pool as part of the final knockout round. The event will be hosted by Chris Puckett alongside casters Rome and dreamcrazzy.

Jerry Holkins, co-founder, Penny Arcade and PAX said this about the upcoming tournament:

“We couldn’t be happier to order another round of Battle of the Brands with DoorDash at PAX West. The lineup is bigger and better than ever and we can’t wait to announce the participants and see who wins the top prize.”

Jennifer Richardi, Head of Consumer Brand Marketing at DoorDash also said:

“We’re thrilled to bring Battle of the Brands back this year in an even bigger way. Whether participating in the showdown or ordering your go-to meal on DoorDash to enjoy as you view the action, we’re creating the ultimate experience for participants and viewers alike. As the tournament heats up, we’re excited for the dynamic duos of fan-favorite brands and skilled streamers to take the stage at PAX West to see who will take home the victory title and exciting grand prizes.”

PAX West will make its return to the Seattle Convention Center this Labor Day Weekend (Friday, September 1 - Monday, September 4). Badges are on sale to the general public right now here.
