Oakland metal act Othered, which features Henry Austin Lannan and Emily Palen (a.k.a. KnightressM1), have unveiled their debut single “Journey To The Edge” today.

The song, which can be heard below, stems from Othered’s debut album Othered Vol. 1, which arrives on April 15. The nine-track album was produced by Triclops! drummer Phil Becker inside El Studio in San Francisco.

Palen said this about the single:

"This song is the conclusion to the thesis that humans are powerful and beautiful beyond measure. We each hold transmutational power and when we step back into our personal truth and unique expression, we access that power. There is a lot of conscious information coming through lit up humans on the planet right now and this song is my way of funneling the conscious information that comes through me.

All of us contain irreplaceable love and we forget that in the midst of this cruel culture that is being developed around us. When we remember our humanity, the pulse in our hearts, the dreams in our soul, the beauty of the images we see at twilight, we will know that was is ours, can never truly be taken. The lies will fall away, the distortions will be clear as day and we will see what must be done."
