Nominations for the 2021 installment of the Italian Video Games Awards have been revealed.

Revealed today, Promesa and Griefhelm both lead the pack with three nominations each. The full list of nominations can be seen below. The nominees and winners are chosen by a panel of noted individuals in the gaming industry with ReedPop Head of B2B Chris Dring, Assassin's Creed 3 creative director Alex Hutchinson, game developer Rami Ismail, Wireframe Magazine editor Ryan Lambie, Xsolla business head Eugene Maleev, Game Informer editor Liana Ruppert, and Edge Magazine deputy editor Chris Schilling making the decisions.

Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association Director General Thalita Malago said this about the nominations:

“Our objective with the IVGAs is to celebrate and champion games that have the Made in Italy stamp, and bring them to a wider global audience.

The pool of games that fed into the final nominees represents the depth and breadth of Italy's creative output, and the fact that we were able to put together such a prestigious panel of judges says something about the quality of the Italian games which launched during the last year.

We’re grateful and honoured that the judges wanted to be part of the IVGAs and thank them for their time, effort and impartiality during the judging process and also want to wish the best of luck to all the nominees.”

The winners will be revealed on July 1 on Twitch during the award ceremony, which will be co-hosted by RaiNews 24’s Dario Marchetti and British journalist Aoife Wilson. Aside from the three categories, winners for Outstanding Italian Company and Outstanding Individual Contribution to Italian gaming will also be announced. More information can be found here.
