Italian black metal artist Marthe has joined the Southern Lord family.

Announced today, the artist will unveil new music on the record label soon. Back in April, they unveiled the nine-minute single “Victimized,” which can be heard below.

Southern Lord founder Greg Anderson said this about Marthe:

"The music is dark, powerful, intense crust-injected black metal that, to my ears, sounds somewhere between Bathory and Tragedy."

Marthe is the black metal project of Marzia, who previously played drums in Italian crust punk bands and played guitar in death rock-post punk band Horror Vacui. Prior to “Victimized,” Marthe released their Sisters of Darkness EP back in 2019 via Agipunk Records.
