U.K. post-hardcore band Hamartia are giving Valentine’s Day the middle finger with their new single “Bloom.”

Released today, the song comes with a music video directed by A Life Well Productions. The accompanying visual can be seen here. Vocalist Sophie Smith said this about the new song:

“Bloom is another track that feels to us like a three-minute long post-breakup therapy session. We’ve all been in a position where we’ve changed who we are for somebody in the hopes that it ‘fixes’ something - but in reality, it does the opposite.

This song is our opportunity to lay all of our feelings bare, work through them and hopefully come out the other side with a new found appreciation for being true to ourselves, and putting ourselves first for once. You’re more than your worst boyfriend.”

Hamartia will have a headlining show at Tiny Rebel in Cardiff on February 12. The show will also feature performances from Failstate, Good Things, and Falselove. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here.
