Flamingosis releases new single “Anime Elegy”

Brooklyn funk/electronic artist Aaron Velasquez b.k.a. Flamingosis has dropped their new single “Anime Elegy” today.

Velasquez said this about the new single, which arrives with a visualizer from Vinyl Creative Co:

“There are a handful of Japanese animated shows where there’s a main protagonist with an extremely tragic backstory. They carry with them a deep sadness, a melancholic solitude of sorts. Yet even though they have all the reason to give up and crumble, they choose not to. They rather choose to keep on keeping on and help others. That takes tremendous compassion, kindness and strength. So if the melancholic anime dude with an unimaginable painful past can persevere, so can you.”

“Anime Elegy” stems from Flamingosis’ forthcoming studio album Better Will Come, which will be released on May 10 via their own label Kahuna Style. Pre-saves/pre-adds for the album can be made here.

This spring, Flamingosis will be touring with a live band for the first time ever. On October 26, they’ll have a special performance at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here.
