Fatoumata Diawara collaborates with Gorillaz' Damon Albarn for "Nsera"

Grammy-nominated Malian singer-songwriter Fatoumata Diawara unveiled their new single “Nsera” on Tuesday.

For the single, they reunited with Damon Albarn, who previously worked with Diawara in Africa Express, Rocket Juice & The Moon, and Gorillaz. Aside from co-writing and co-producing the track with Diawara, Albarn appears on the track playing keyboards and delivering warm vocals. An accompanying music video for the track directed by Gregory Ohrel (Orelsan, Jain, Residente) can be seen below.

“Nsera,” which means “destination” in Bambara, is the first single from Diawara’s forthcoming studio album set for a spring 2023 release. The new single is available on digital services right now.

Diawara has a slew of tour dates in Europe and North America in the following months. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public here.
