Elton John and Britney Spears’ collaboration “Hold Me Closer” has arrived today.

The track, which was produced by Andrew Watt, is a remake of John’s hit single “Hold Me Closer.” The song also includes elements of John’s other hits “The One” and “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.” The collaboration was sparked by Spears’ 2015 tweet professing their love for “Tiny Dancer.”

Elton John said this about working with Spears:

“I am absolutely thrilled to have had the chance to work with Britney Spears; She truly is an icon, one of the all-time great pop stars and she sounds amazing on this record. I love her dearly and am delighted with what we've created together.”

Spears also chimed in:

“I was so honored when the incredible Sir Elton John asked me to join him on one his most iconic songs. We are so excited for the fans to hear it! Thank you, Elton, for having me! I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to work with you and your legendary mind.”

“Hold Me Closer” is available on digital services right now.

Elton John is currently on their farewell tour, which runs through 2023. Tour dates and tickets are available here.

“Hold Me Closer” is the first new piece of music from Spears since their 2016 studio album Glory.
