Swedish metal band Cult of Luna have unveiled an interactive music video based on their “Cold Burn” single.

The Long Road North, which can be played for free on Steam, was developed by North Kingdom Games. In the game, players must guide a lost light through treacherous atmospheres and collect other lost lights along the way. Exclusive artwork will be unlocked depending on how many lost lights were collected at the end of the game.

The band originally said this about the game when it was announced late last year:

“Building the experience in Unreal Engine allows us to invite fans as the hero of the story to explore the music video in their unique way. The song is adaptive to how you navigate the world, so every time you play the music video game, you will get a different experience. The project is an innovative collaboration between Cult Of Luna, North Kingdom, and Arctic Game Lab, and developed by a team of game designers, 3D artists, and musicians in the north of Sweden."

“Cold Burn” comes from Cult of Luna’s new studio album The Long Road North, which is out now on Metal Blade Records. The record follows their 2019 release A Dawn to Fear. The band will be touring Europe this fall with special guests Caspian and Holy Fawn. Tour dates and tickets can be found on their website.
