Bambara unveil new song "Letters From Sing Sing"
Brooklyn post-punk band Bambara has delivered their new single "Letters From Sing Sing" today.
The single drops alongside an accompanying music video directed by Jason Miller (Of Montreal, A-Trak), which can be seen here. Vocalist/guitarist Reid Bateh said this about the song:
“This song is a series of letters from the narrator to another character in the album’s story, Elena, whose boyfriend he murdered. He’s telling her about his attempts to persuade the court to reinstate the practice of execution—specifically for him. He believes that if he can persuade them, he will be able to see her one last time, convinced that her intense anger and thirst for vengeance will drive her to attend his execution."
"Letters From Sing Sing" stems from Bambara’s forthcoming studio album Birthmarks, which is slated for a March 14 release on Wharf Cat Records in North America and Bella Union elsewhere. Pre-orders for the album can be made here.
This spring, Bambara will embark on a trek in the U.K. and Europe. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here.
