Austin rock act The Caughtery, which includes Austin music veterans Lisa Tingle and David Gayler, have unveiled their debut single “Fragile” today.

The single was mixed by Tim Palmer (Ozzy Osbourne, U2, Pearl Jam) and was co-produced by Palmer and Gayler. An accompanying music video can be seen below.

Tingle said this about the new song:

“So often, both personally and professionally, people have underestimated my strength and abilities, usually based on my honesty, flexibility, and eagerness to learn… I think it’s common for others to mistake those particular attributes as weakness or frailty. I can “play ball” and attempt to compromise with others for longer than most… but when those same people continue to degrade and undermine who I am, I will eventually explode. However, it’s not an angry, violent explosion… It’s more of a “phoenix from the ashes,” a Sisyphus that actually makes it to the top of that mountain. So in the end… The joke’s on them. Never never never underestimate the spirit of another human being.”

“Fragile” is the first single from The Caughtery’s forthcoming EP, which will be released on July 15. “Fragile” is available on digital services right now.
