Anime Expo to bring new and classic anime films to North American theaters with AX Cinema Nights

After a successful launch at this year’s Anime Expo, the folks behind the convention will bring AX Cinema Nights to theaters across North America.

Announced today, the screening series is done in collaboration with Iconic Events Releasing. Future screenings slated for this series include the theatrical edition of Ultraman, the fifth anniversary celebration of A Silent Voice (October 12), and The House of the Lost on the Cape (September 7). Anime Expo said this about the venture:

“Anime Expo and Iconic Events Releasing are excited to announce the launch of AX Cinema Nights, an in-person movie event series that celebrates the best new and classic anime films brought to local theaters across North America. AX Cinema Nights will now give anime fans nationwide an opportunity to gather as a community in your local movie theater and share your love of the artform.”

During Anime Expo, fans got to view films such as The House of the Lost on the Cape, Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis - Glory, and the theatrical edition of Ultraman.

In November, Anime Expo will head to Ontario, California for Anime Expo Ontario, which takes place on November 12 and November 13 at the Ontario Convention Center. Tickets will go on sale to the general public soon. Our coverage of Anime Expo can be found here.
