Alien: Isolation sequel is in early development
10 years after the release of Alien: Isolation, fans will be happy to learn more Alien action is on the way.
Revealed today, a sequel to the 2014 game is currently in early development. Creative director Al Hope made the announcement via a Twitter post:
“On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear.
Today, I’m delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to Alien Isolation is in early development. We look forward to sharing more details with you when we’re ready.”
Alien: Isolation earned a slew of awards, including Game of the Year at PC Gamer’s 2014 Game of the Year Awards and Best Horror Game at GamesRadar's Game of the Year 2014 Awards. In 2019, IGN aired Alien: Isolation – The Digital Series, which is an animated adaptation of the game. The recent Alien: Romulus features an Easter egg from the game.
A synopsis for Alien: Isolation reads:
Fifteen years after the events of Alien (1979), Ellen Ripley's daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance. As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien. Underpowered and under prepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.
