5 predictions for E3 2021 (Persona 3, Metroid Prime Trilogy)

E3 will arrive this weekend, and video game fans are ready for some big announcements from studios such as Gearbox Entertainment and Square Enix. We decided to make a list of five things we’d like to see go down during the event, which runs from June 12 through June 15. Fans can head here to see the updated streaming schedule.

Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Switch

It's going to be a while until Metroid Prime 4 comes out, so why not revisit the first three games in the series? A Metroid Prime Trilogy port for the Switch would be a great way to help celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Metroid franchise. Originally released in 2009, Metroid Prime Trilogy is considered one of the best compilations released on Nintendo consoles. The trilogy's initial limited-time release is something Nintendo fans would experience years later with Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

Elden Ring footage, please?

One game everyone is hoping to make an appearance is Elden Ring, which is the highly anticipated collaboration between game director Hidetaka Miyazaki and author George R. R. Martin. While leaked footage surfaced weeks ago, folks are still waiting on an official trailer.

Excitebike coming back?

If we're gonna guess which longtime Nintendo IP will get tossed back into the world, it's gonna be Excitebike. The beloved racer has been dormant since 2009's Excitebike: World Rally. Released back in 1984, Excitebike would lay the foundation for the side-scrolling antics found in Super Mario Bros.

Persona 3 on PC

After last year's surprising Persona 4 Golden jump to PC, many are hoping for Persona 3 to follow suit. Released in 2006, Persona 3 introduced fans to Social Links, which would lead to various debates online about which one is more superior. Let's hope they port Persona 3 Portable so we don't have to deal with our teammates running off during a tough battle.

Shin Megami Tensei V release date announced

Shin Megami Tensei V is slated to arrive sometime this year on the Nintendo Switch, and fans of the series are expecting the release date to drop during Nintendo's E3 presentation. The game was originally announced during the Nintendo Switch livestream presentation in 2017. For now, longtime fans and curious gamers can grab Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster right now.

Bonus prediction: Persona 3 - 5 get ported to the Nintendo Switch

While the Persona series has been a huge success for PlayStation, many believe the games would be a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch. Recent surveys from Atlus have shown a strong demand for ports of their classic titles. Nintendo could surprise gamers with the reveal of Persona 3, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 making their way onto the console this year.
