Since 2007, Record Store Day has been considered Christmas for music lovers with a slew of exclusive records being sold through various independent retailers. This year, Record Store Day will arrive this Saturday (June 12) and Saturday, July 17 with separate releases for each day. We look at 10 releases that are perfect for your Record Store Day collection.

Saturday, June 12

Village of the Damned soundtrack - John Carpenter & Dave Davies

Last October, Varese Sarabande Records delivered the deluxe edition of the Village of the Damned soundtrack, which delivers a broader sounding version of the original 1995 mix. While the film didn't do so well at the box office, the soundtrack, which was done by film director John Carpenter and The Kinks' lead guitarist Dave Davies, earned praise amongst critics.

Mega Ran 9 -  Mega Ran

Mega Ran's 2008 studio album Mega Ran 9 hits vinyl for the first time. The 14-track album, which was originally co-released by the artist and Capcom, will feature new artwork from tattoo artist Inksworth.

Cheree - Suicide

Influential electronic outfit Suicide made an impact with their 1977 self-titled studio album. One standout track on the release is "Cheree," which has since been immortalized via numerous covers over the years. This limited-edition four-song EP features the "Cheree" and its accompanying B-side "I Remember" as well as “Cheree (Remix)” and an early version of “Dream Baby Dream” titled “Keep Your Dreams.”

"Digital Bath (Telefon Tel Aviv Version)” / “Feiticeira (Arca Remix)” - Deftones

While Deftones celebrated their 2000 studio album White Pony with the companion remix album Black Stallion, not every remix made the cut. For this special RSD release, fans can get their hands on previously unreleased remixes from Telefon Tel Aviv ("Digital Bath") and Arca's ("Feiticeira”).

King of Ska: The Early Singles Collection, 1963 - 1966 - Desmond Dekker

BMG are celebrating the 80th birthday of late ska icon Desmond Dekker with a massive collection of singles from the artist's career. Only 500 copies will be available for the 10-disc set, which includes classics such as "Honour Your Mother And Father" and "King Of Ska."

Determination - God Forbid

God Forbid's 2001 studio album Determination will get the vinyl treatment for the first time for its 20th anniversary. The album marked a major point in God Forbid's career with tours alongside Cradle of Filth, Opeth, and Lamb of God in support of its release. This release will also include "Mind Eraser," which was featured on the New Jersey metalcore group's 2003 Better Days EP.

BBC Sessions - Sisters of Mercy

Gothic rock icons Sisters of Mercy will have their early BBC sessions available physically for the first time. The three sessions include covers of The Stooges’ “1969”, Dolly Parton’s “Jolene," and Hot Chocolate’s “Emma." Songs performed during these sessions would wind up on the band's 1985 debut album First and Last and Always.
